"a Cloud descending snatch'd him thence Unseen amid the throng: so violence Proceeded, and Oppression, and Sword-Law Through all the Plain, and refuge none was found ..." John Milton, Paradise Lost
The photographs such good reminders of shelters and portals. It reminds me of the portal tomb (aka dolmen)I saw on Inis Mor (one of the Aran Islands) off the west coast of Ireland. No one knows for sure what the purpose of these Neolithic structures was; but human remains have been found underneath one of the famous ones in Ireland -- the Poulnabrone dolmen. Testament to ancient people, trying to understand from whence we come and where we go after death.
I can't believe how apt that quote from Milton is. And I just love the photos of the amazing beach finds. They remind me that humans still do positive things.
